When the melodic sounds of the piano fill the air at The Palace Coral Gables, it is not always coming from one of the many talented entertainers who perform daily for residents at the active retirement community.

Going to grandma or grandpa’s house takes on a whole new meaning when grandchildren and great-grandchildren visit residents living at The Palace’s senior living communities.

The Palace Group, developer and operator of award-winning senior living communities in South Florida, recently received a 2019 Gallup Great Workplace Award, one of only 40 international companies to earn the recognition. This is the second year the company has received the award.

The Palace Gardens in Homestead recently hosted “The Commander’s Reception,” inviting members of the Homestead Military Affairs Committee (MAC) to enjoy a festive celebration in their honor.A self-governing committee of the South Dade Chamber of Commerce, MAC’s mission is to assist military units within the chamber’s service area to achieve their goals and to promote understanding and cooperation between the civilian and military communities.

While some celebrate a 20th anniversary with china or platinum, The Palace Suites heralded its milestone with a nod to nostalgia at a “Blast to the Past” Roaring Twenties extravaganza.

Guests and residents were greeted by flappers, dancers, a look-a-like Charlie Chaplin and a Roaring 20's cabaret setting. They enjoyed live entertainment, a delicious banquet and endless champagne. On hand for the celebration were general manager Gabriel Garrido and Palace Group founders Jacob and Helen Shaham.

It was “all hands on deck” at The Palace Coral Gables for the visit of officers and sailors from the USS New York and the FSN Ventose who were in town for the first Miami Navy Week, Mar. 25-31.
