Palace Royale Resident's 104th Birthday Featured on CBS 4

Last weekend, The Palace at Coral Gables, a community in Coral Gables, FL, held a Chinese New Year celebration for its residents. “We celebrate Chinese New Year every year. We love celebrations!” said Pamela Parker, The Palace at Coral Gables’ director of entertainment. “[In fact,] we celebrate all holidays—and many have a cultural component.” As such, they’ve celebrated Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Ash Wednesday, Israeli Independence Day, Cinco de Mayo and more.

With exercise and fitness among the top new year’s resolutions, finding a new workout may be just the trick to maintaining one’s commitment to a healthier lifestyle.

At The Palace at Coral Gables, octogenarians and nonagenarians may have found this a solution.

Residents at The Palace at Coral Gables recently celebrated the Chinese New Year/Year of the Rabbit with an intergenerational event. The entertainment included traditional dance routines and a music student presentation from visiting Chinese foreign exchange students and students from the Belen Jesuit Preparatory school studying world languages.

If you ever wondered what makes The Palace different from the many other senior communities nationwide, I have a story I’d like to share with you. Recently, we hosted Girl Scout Troop 118 at The Palace at Coral Gables to run a Holiday Bingo Night.

Palace Group communities seek innovative ways to engage their residents and encourage socialization. At the company’s Palace at Weston community, Memory Care Social Director Justin Valdes formed the first-ever baseball team, inviting Billy the Marlin and Miami Marlin Mermaids to their official debut!

Teams from the Miami-based Palace Group’s communities headed to Fort Myers to lead a hand to Hurricane Ian victims. Organized by The Palace at Weston’s Director of Sales & Marketing Elizabeth Martinez, who spearheaded the collection of donations from residents and the communities, trucks were loaded with tons of much-needed supplies, including pallets of canned goods, water, non-perishable items, baby food, and assistive devices.

The Palace at Weston, an assisted living facility in Weston, Florida, brought more than 700 meals and nonperishable items to the Downtown Fort Myers area today. The Palace worked with the Broward County Sheriff ’s Office and Pembroke Pines Police Department to make this all possible.

Residents from The Palace at Weston assisted living community joined with the Primrose School of Miramar for “Adopt a Grandparent Day” and then with Harmony Dance Academy in honor of “National Grandparents’ Day.”

Congrats to the Class of 2022! The Palace at Weston’s Memory Care residents were among this year’s graduating class, having completed our “Magical Community University.”
